“7 Days of Time” – Spatial Installation, New Trauma Hospital Linz
Media
Spatial installation, sculpture, light, photography
Year
2005
Collaboration
Moser Architects
Location
Unfallkrankenhaus Linz, Upper Austria
A permanent, walk-in spatial installation developed specifically for the New Trauma Hospital Linz. Based on extensive research into Upper Austrian folk art, the project consists of seven sequential stations that frame healing as a ritual process of transition (rites de passage). Monumental sculptural forms—derived from archetypes found in regional furniture—are combined with large-scale light installations (“Transitories”).
The project integrates archaic symbolic language with contemporary photographic techniques, creating a contemplative environment that addresses healing through bodily movement and spatial perception where space may act as a therapeutic medium.
